One Ashland is dedicated to supporting our community through education, conservation and preservation. By bringing the community together, we can initiate solutions to local issues as well as overcome financial limitations. By creating a collective, where everyone pitches in financially, we can self sustain by providing for our community, where we need it most. By working together, we can overcome budget cuts in our schools and communities. As a community we can provide for our schools, providing funding for field trips (which have recently been cut due to budget restraints), better food for our children, and music and art programs, which are essential, but sadly, dwindling.

Nonprofit serves free vegan lunches to high school students
Ashland High School students lined up to eat quesadillas, grilled cheese and ice cream — all of it vegan — from a food truck Wednesday. The meal served as a test for a new nonprofit that plans to offer free, vegan lunches to the students once a week next academic year. One Ashland, run by volunteers, is hoping to receive funding and food donations from businesses, individuals and farms, founder Johan Ziems said. "We'd like it not to be a few doing a lot, but a lot doing a little," he said. "It is possible to do vegan lunches that are very good tasting and much healthier for kids and the planet."
